Captain Hook Page
This page is dedicated to the unsung heroes of the Cadboro Bay Sailing Association. Why aren’t people singing the praises of these particular heroes? Suffice it to say that their exploits will never be immortalized by historians in the pages of sailing lore. The heroes themselves are often reticent to recount the full details of certain events. In the past, to hear these tales one had to be present at Smugglers Cove in the final hours of a Tuesday evening…until now that is!
To ensure that these heroes and their tales will not be forgotten, the Captain Hook trophy was designed and constructed (by our own Mark Cummings), and awarded annually to the sailor generating the greatest merriment among club members.
Every year at the CBSA Christmas party, the exploits of challengers for the Captain Hook trophy are retold, and then voted on by the revellers. The hero of the winning story may or may not choose to display the trophy on their mantelpiece, however there is no avoiding the epithet of ‘Captain Hook’ for a full year!
So if you are out sailing with club members and you witness something that causes you to fall overboard with laughter, please email the salient details to the FLEET CAPTAIN at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
I will make sure that these tales are not forgotten, but survive as an entry for the Captain Hook trophy, and to amuse future generations of sailors!
