CBSA Frequently Asked Questions

Here a few frequently asked questions (with their answers!):

  • Question: May I store a kayak or paddle board in the compound?   Answer:  The Club compound is intended for storing sailing dinghies that are monohulled, under 275 lbs and under 17 feet in length.  As the mandate of the CBSA is to further sailing on Cadboro Bay for the community, all space in the compound us used for dinghies.  The level of interest is such that several dinghy owners are usually waitlisted for spaces. 
  • Question: Does CBSA offer sailing lessons?  Answer: No
  • Question: Does CBSA allow members of the public to rent sailing dinghies?  Answer: Unfortunately, we do not rent dinghies due to liability concerns.  All boats in the compound are privately owned.
  • Question: I have a boat in the compound that I will sell – can the buyer use my storage spot?  Answer: When a boat is sold the spot is deemed to be vacant, unless the club member puts another boat in its place.  The compound storage administrator fills vacant spots from the waitlist after the current user sells or relocates their boat.
